An Airdrie wrestler has proven to be a powerhouse performer by getting to grips with her job as a carer and grappling with oppenents in the ring.
Merissa Fraser, 23, became engrossed in the sport when she was just five years old.
However, not content with cheering beat downs from the stands she decided to administer her own, and stepped into the ring in 2012 after a college friend told her about Airdrie’s Premier British Wrestling Academy.
Now, Merissa works as a support assistant by day, but by night she is a larger-than-life ring star.
Competing under the name Emily Hayden she has performed across the UK for a host of top promotions – including a recent outing at Airdrie Town Hall.
Merissa told the Advertiser:“I first discovered wrestling at a very young age because of my dad and brother.
“That was when I became a fan and would watch it as often as I could.
