Home Instead Senior Care Greenwich & Bexley recently entered into a partnership with DisabledGo. DisabledGo were commissioned by Royal Borough of Greenwich 7 years ago to provide accessibility information to over 1,000 places across the area including, parks, leisure centres, cinemas, restaurants, theatres, open spaces, football grounds and many more, the information joined over 125,000 other venues across the UK and Republic of Ireland. The DisabledGo website is factual and completely free for all users.
DisabledGo can collect up to 1,000 pieces of information for one venue (depending on the size) for example, if the venue has hearing loop system, if staff are trained to use it, if the venue has an accessible toilet, how the door to that toilet opens, what side the transfer space is on, colour contrast and much more.
At Home Instead we pride ourselves in providing care of highest quality to our clients in their own homes. We also regularly take our clients out for social activities so that they can continue living independently in the community. Due to nature of their jobs, our CAREGivers regularly interact with disabled and older people and we believe that our CAREGivers are not only resourceful themselves, but also are able to signpost our clients, clients’ relatives and others, to local services, incluiding information about accessibility .
Director of Home Instead Senior Care – Greenwich & Bexley, Fatta Thapa said, “We are very excited about this new partnership with Disabled Go, hopefully, many people will benefit from this.”
